Excellent article. It does a good job of clarifying certain aspects of a very complex situation.
It is heartbreaking to see how quickly such a well-intentioned and seemingly well-supported resolution to end the civil war and ethnic conflict has broken down, due to a small number of power-hungry individuals' ( big fish in a VERY small pond) refusal to put the well-being of Burundi and its people before their own self-centered ambitions.
Hopefully those individuals will realize that their legacies will be better served by participating in a genuine effort to create a peaceful and prosperous future for all Burundians. I pray they will see the light.
