French photographer Mahé Élipe has been based in Mexico City since 2016. Her documentary work focuses on the human condition and, more particularly, the place of women in society. She is one of the winners of the 2019 Reuters photojournalism grant as well as the National Geographic Society’s Covid-19 Emergency Fund, in 2020. She was a finalist in the Athens Photo World 2022 YBIPA and a winner of the 2022 Women Photograph Project Grant. More recently, she received the 2023 Françoise Demulder Award at the international photojournalism festival Visa pour l’Image. She contributes to a range of media including Libération, Le Monde, Bloomberg, The Guardian and Reuters.
