Colette Braeckman is a journalist with the Belgian newspaper Le Soir, specialising in African affairs and, in particular, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda and Burundi. She also contributes to other publications such as Le Monde Diplomatique, Les Temps Modernes, Esprit and Marianne Belgique. She is the author of several books on the Great Lakes region.
