Nnimmo Bassey

Nnimmo Bassey is an environmentalist, activist and poet, Executive Director of Friends of the Earth Nigeria and former chair of Friends of the Earth International. He also coordinates Oilwatch International. In 2012 he was awarded the Rafto Prize for Human Rights and his poetry collections include We Thought It Was Oil But It Was Blood (2002). His latest book, To Cook A Continent (Pambazuka Press, 2012) exposes the destructive fossil fuel industry and the climate crisis in Africa.
Antonello Mangano founded the online Italian human rights journal www.terrelibere.org in 1999. His latest books are Gli africani salveranno l’Italia [The Africans will save Italy] (Rizzoli, 2011), Voi li chiamati clandestini [You called them Illegal] (Manifestolibri, 2011) and Zenobia (Castelvecchi, 2013).
