Consuelo Pagaza

Consuelo Pagaza is a photojournalist based in Mexico City. She graduated from the Universidad Iberoamericana where she majored in journalism and audiovisual media. She works for media outlets and civil society organisations both in Mexico and abroad. Her main focus is on issues related to human rights, gender and the environment. In 2016 she was a finalist in the Hasselblad Masters photography competition. In 2017 she received third place in the POY Latam competition in the multimedia category (website) for the series Buscadores, en un país de desaparecidos, for which she also won first place in the Gabo Latin America prize in the image category (2017), as well as the National Journalism Prize in 2018.
